OutcomeSpread awareness for the Generate brand by creating social media posts, concepting promotional ideas within a creative team, and branding our major end-of-semester showcase.









BackgroundGenerate is an organization that truly fosters learning outside of the classroom.

College students face a mountain of homework every night, but Generate students take hours out of every week to create products for real-life startups. The projects range from a doorbell helping the deafblind community, to a website to support career women in India.

The end-of-year Showcase is a celebration of the 100+ students who spent countless hours on these amazing projects. My task was to create a unique Showcase brand and concept ideas for how to promote the event to the student body.










ConceptingInitial concepts for the flyer. My aim with the posters was to create eye-catching graphics using the Showcase branding I had created, but these were eventually incorporated into the final concept. The idea of listing Generate’s projects was kept conceptually, but the original version was too wordy.







Finished ProductMy concept was to create posters promoting specific Generate projects, since so few students knew about their amazing work.


The brand recognition for Generate left something to be desired - it was tough to get the word out to students without them understanding what the organization did.

I pitched the above concept to our creative and marketing team. The middle poster is our main Showcase flyer, with all of the information connected by 'circuits,' a smaller motif in our brand book that I emphasized in the Showcase brand to evoke technology and innovation.

The flyers to the right and left represent Generate projects displayed at Showcase.  Most students only looked at the flyers for half a second, and it's up to the designers to make that count.
